Producing, as it does, such elegant spikes, and with its great durability and fragrance, it is unexcelled for out door or window culture. Our grower is one of the best in Holland, and we list below such varieties as we know are especially fine for producing fine spikes, large bells and exquisite colorings. Our bulbs are of good size.solid and well formed. Named Hyacinths are to be preferred to unnamed and mixed. Alba Superbissima—Immense white flowers: one of the finest known. Grandeur a Merveille—Rosy-white, large truss. Hadam Van der Hoop—Large, snowy-white spikes; very showy. Roi des Beiges—Beautiful crimson bells; a fijie bloomer. Robert Steiger—Very fine, large, compact spike of bright crimson-red flowers; should be in every collection. Gigantea—Thick spikes and large bells of a beautiful flesh color. One of the grandest sorts. (Rose) Baron Von Thuyl—Pale Rose, very early; a good sort. Gertrude—Fine red; large compact truss; a splendid variety for bedding, as it stands very erect; also first class for forcing. Grand flaitre—A tall grower, with huge, thick trusses of the loveliest, clear porcelain-blue; flowers of the most perfect shape. Pleneman—A magnificent sort, with enor- mous sky-blue bells, arranged in loose, graceful spikes of great size. Reeulus—Porcelain-blue, large spike, a very good variety for forcing and bedding.
