The Great "Monarch" Set of Bver=Blooming Carnation Pinks. AS ILLUSTRATED ABOVE. 1. W. A. Scott—This is in style of growth between the tall growing Richmond and the more dwarf Spartan. Growth vigorous, very free blooming from early to late; foliage not quite as heavy as that of Richmond. Flowers large and non-bursting, of a deep Grace Wilder pink. Price, 15 cents each. 2. Eldorado—Light clear yellow, petals edged with a narrow band cf light pink. A strong, vigorous grower with fine healthy foliage; stems of good length, supporting large finely formed flowers. The color shows up well un- der artificial light, and does not look white, as so many yellows do. Price, 15 cents. 3. Jubilee—Is the grandest red Carnation ever brought out. Color intense bright scarlet of the richest shade. Indeed, there is no flower in the whole floral king- dom that has a brighter scarlet than Jubilee. It has taken first premiums over all reds at the Boston Carnation bhow, February, 1S95; certificate and first prize at Indian- apolis; also at Chicago; certificate at Cincinnati. As mam- as twenty-five open flowers have been counted on a sin- gle plant at one time. The flowers are of the largest size, and when in full bloom resemble a large bouquet of daz- zling- red. Price. 15 cents each. 4. Golden Fleece—This is a pure yellow Carnation, of strong growth and very profuse flowering. There 3s little or no stripe at all in it, being a straight out-and- out deep, rich golden-yellow and almost without any other color whatever, under any circumstances. The florets are large and double as in Buttercup, and taken all in all it is the very best yellow Carnation out. Price, 15 cents each. 5. ArMazindy-Color snow-white, very lightly pen- ciled scarlet: can almost be used as a white; stem very stiff, slender, and 2 to 3 feet high; the flower is large and never bursts. One of the most profuse bloomers in the whole family, and surpassed by no variety in beauty and in good qualities. We do not know of a single fault, and it certainly "takes" with flower buyers, being always in demand. We recommend this variety above all others to the general public, as it can be used on all occasions when fine cut flowers are needed. Of the easiest management. Price, 15 cents each. SPECIAL OFFER: THE FULL SET OF MONARCH CARNATIONS FOR BO CENTS. T . , ^ „ a Mendota, 111., Jan. 26, 1898. Gentlemen:—I received the Carnations and Begonias in fine shape. They are much nicer and larger than I expected them to be. Yours very trulv, " MISS J. A. L.
