O.VII.The ftalk is about a foot high, ere6b and branched.The leaves are nunierous, growing without or-der, elliptical, roughly hairy, waved on theedges, fomctimes (lightly ferrated, but oftnerintire. The branches are deftitute of leaves agood way downwards, and are terminated withnearly hemifperical heads of blue flowers,which are fubtendc^i by a common calyx, con-fiding of about ten oval-lanceolate leaves. Eachfloret has alfo its own proper quinquefid calyx^fupported by a peduncle. The floret itfclf ispentapctalous, the petals linear, acute, and con-neded together at their bafe.
