Español: Esta fotografía fue tomada en La Capilla de la Purísima Concepción o más conocida como iglesia de “La Conchita".
Cuando el conquistador español, Hernán Cortés, llegó a Coyoacán mandó construir la Iglesia de “la Conchita” sobre lo que era un centro ceremonial prehispánico y donde se celebró la primera misa en la región. Recientemente –con las obras de rescate y mantenimiento al edificio- el Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia confirmó que había sido un altar tolteca. A principios del siglo XVI Coyoacán fue la residencia de Cortés, y en esta capilla dedicada a la Purísima Concepción de María se ofrecía misa todos los días. Su construcción barroca data del siglo XVII, cuenta con una sola nave, una cúpula, dos campanarios, una sacristía anexa y una fachada de estilo plateresco con motivos florales y atrio que es una plaza que cuenta con jardines y caminos empedrados. En muchas ocasiones la Iglesia de la Conchita ha estado en remodelación, y hoy en día, por trabajos de restauración, se encuentra cerrada. |
