Description
English: At the end of January 2021, Atlantic storm Justine hit Europe, causing severe weather in Spain and the south of France. After its passage, the department of Landes in France is still affected by widespread flooding and numerous roads have been closed or placed under observation. As shown in this image acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 2 February, the floods caused by the Adour River in the area between Bégaar and Josse have been particularly significant (approximately 110 km² were flooded at the time of image acquisition). High-resolution open data supplied by the Copernicus Sentinel satellites allow for the accurate delineation of flood extent and damage assessment.
