Yango Creek Road bridge over Wollombi Brook showing the debris in the trees at the flood level. The Wollombi Tavern is off to my left (and yes the water was over the floor in there). Unfortunately I was caught out on Friday night by the rising Yango Creek and I was lucky to get back to <a href="/photos/mullavilla/" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Guesthouse Mulla Villa</a> (some photos of the flood to come on that account soon, when power is restored). 5 hours later the whole valley was under water and we were totally stranded without phones (no mobiles either) and power. I didn't get home until Sunday night when I decided to take the Land Rover through the 7 Yango Creek crossings (the long way as this bridge was still at least 2 metres under). The phones came back (full of static) Sunday evening but we're still without power. I have a small generator so I can keep the water pressure pump, fridge and freezer running (not together) as well as the ADSL Modem (when it works) and Laptop. No hot water or electric blanket :( |
