[edit]DescriptionFloating castle for the entry of Henry II of France into Lyon.jpg |
Engraving of a floating castle, used in Henry II of France's entry into Lyon in 1548. Département des Estampes, Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris. The poop deck was fitted with a throne, under Henry's emblem of a crescent moon. Henry and his queen, Catherine de' Medici, ate a meal in the "magnificent room" (salle magnifique) at the vessel's centre, after a table laden with food rose through a trapdoor. |
