Description

Typical of Porsche- they had the engines making plenty of power, the rules restricted the width of the tires. What to do? Easy. Throw out the 13 and 15 inch rims, go up to 19 inch rims (!) and large size tires to match. Makes the contact patch longer, Put the power where the rubber meets the road. The hub-caps are fun too - besides being copied by GM for Firebirds, The cone and the vanes around the edge form a centrifugal air pump- sucking air out through the wheel and expelling it. If that flow happens to cool the brake discs, well, that's the point. Fun to try, maybe it made a difference. Wasn't copied by everyone, but they took a shot anyway.
