Figurines and whistle fragments: The sites of Nimli and Lubaantun are well known for the manufacture of ceramic figurines. Most of the figurines are actually whistles (ocarines) from which a range of tones can be produced. Interestingly, male figure ocarinas produce a lower tone the female figure instruments that have a slightly higher pitch.
