Description Sgt. Stan Matlock, a combat medic with Company C, 299th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, offers one of his Soldiers instructions on how to set up an effective security perimeter during a company field training exercise Aug. 14 at Fort Riley, Kan. The medical company Soldiers are honing their casualty care skills as well as reviewing basic troop tasks during the week-long exercise. The "Lifeline" Soldiers will be featured in an upcoming NCO Journal article about the "Dagger" Brigade's AFRICOM alignment mission. Photo by Mollie Miller, 1st Infantry Division Public Affairs
