U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (Oct. 10, 2012) Navy Diver 2nd Class Matthew Cortez, left, assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1 dives with a MK 16 re-breather. MDSU 1 is assigned to Commander, Task Group (CTG) 56.1, which provides mine countermeasure, EOD, salvage diving, counter terrorism, and force protection for the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
