[edit]DescriptionFlickr - Israel Defense Forces - E pluribus unum.jpg |
May 1, 2008. Out of many, one! In the above picture Kfir Brigade soldiers train during the concluding exercise of the Shimshom battalion. The exercise lasted approximately six weeks, and was preceded by extensive operational activity in the Bethlehem region. During the exercise the battalion was faced with several hostile scenarios posed by the battalion's HQ, changed locations, and concluded with a large-scale infantry drill in the Jordan Valley. Col. Itai Virov, then-Commander of the Kfir Brigade, noted that "it [the exercise] was immensely important, and the soldiers did above and beyond what was expected of them; I have no doubt that the battalion is fit and ready for every possible scenario".
