December 28, 2010. The Torah Scroll dedicated to the welfare of all missing or kidnapped IDF soldiers was introduced into the Military Synagogue at the Rabin Base in Tel-Aviv on Tuesday. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, senior IDF officers, and Rabbi Yaakov Israel Ifergan. Family members of missing or kidnapped IDF soldiers were also present during the ceremony. Pictured: Noam Shalit, the father of Gilad Shalit - an IDF soldier who had been kidnapped in 2006 and is still held hostage in the Gaza Strip - walks with the Torah Scroll into the Military Synagogue. ספר תורה לשלומם של חיילי צה"ל החטופים והנעדרים הוכנס היום (ג') לבית הכנסת במחנה רבין בתל אביב במעמד הרמטכ"ל, רב אלוף גבי אשכנזי ואלופי צה"ל ובהשתתפות כבוד הרב יעקב ישראל איפרגאן (הרנטגן). בטקס המרגש נכחו נציגי משפחות חיילי צה"ל השבויים והנעדרים. בתמונה: תהלוכת הכנסת ספר התורה אל בית הכנסת. |
