Luke Lamana, a Tuscon, Ariz., Native, low crawls more than 50 meters up Marine Corps Training Area Bellows' beach March 14 after paddling a boat 500 meters against the ocean to swim back and begin a patrol during a training exercise for 3rd Radio Battalion's Radio Reconnaissance Instructional Program. He and about 12 other Marines are in the Radio Reconnaissance Instructional Program to make themselves and their battalion reconnaissance capable for the first time since being deactivated in 1946 (reactivated in 2003).
