Summary
[edit]DescriptionFlickr - DVIDSHUB - Osprey Supports Afghan, Coalition Forces in Afghanistan.jpg |
An MV-22B Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 365, the "Blue Knights," serving under 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), soars over Afghanistan Sept. 21 in one of many missions the Marines carried out in support of Afghan National Security and International Security Assistance Forces in Helmand province. The Osprey crews will fly all types of troops and cargo across the region, including Afghan forces, coalition troops, reconstruction supplies, and gear and equipment for troops in remote locations. ISAF leans heavily on the Osprey for operational support as its tilt rotor technology shrinks the battle space, allowing pilots to fly troops farther and faster than the other helicopters operating in the region. VMM-365 is the second squadron to fly the Osprey in support of combat operations in Afghanistan. 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Fwd) Public Affairs Photo by Gunnery Sgt.
