«Прямоугольное двухстороннее полотнище с отношением ширины к длине 2:3, воспроизводящее фигуры герба муниципального образования город Меленки, выполненные в голубом, зелёном и жёлтом цвете».

Описание герба: «В лазоревом поле на зелёной земле — золотая ветряная мельница о четырёх лопастях в косвенный крест, с приставленной слева лестницей того же металла, окружённая золотой оградой особого вида (из одной жерди, положенной на восемь видимых столбов)».
