Español: Bandera del municipio de Labateca (Norte de Santander).
"Elaborada por el estudiante de Gerencia para el Desarrollo Socio-Empresarial, GERSON IVAN MORA GARCIA. Reconocida como bandera oficial del municipio por Decreto Nº 040 de noviembre de 1997. En su diseño el autor tuvo en cuenta dos aspectos centrales. * La devoción a la Virgen de las Angustias, ayer, hoy y siempre. * La riqueza forestal debido a su relieve montañoso sobre la cordillera Oriental. La bandera del municipio es rectangular y se compone de los colores VERDE ESMERALDA Y BLANCO distribuidos en tres franjas horizontales: la superior y la inferior de igual anchura de color verde esmeralda y la central de mayor amplitud de fondo blanco. Sobrepuestas en esta faja se destacan y resaltan de extremo a extremo en forma de arco de medio punto (el equivalente a una semicircunferencia) siete estrellas del mismo tamaño de cinco puntas y de color azul aguamarina. Las siete estrellas de color azul aguamarina, honran al pueblo, que es identificado como pueblo mariano, devoto y humilde. Cada estrella simboliza un misterio de la virgen de las Angustias, las cuales circundan la parte superior del sagrado lienzo que se conserva en el camarín del altar mayor del templo del mismo nombre. Imagen que en su conjunto es una especial herencia y legado de nuestro ancestro, tan venerada Virgen, por tan grandes e innumerables favores recibidos. SIGNIFICADO DE LOS COLORES: Color verde esmeralda: cuarto color del espectro solar. Color que para el pueblo Labatequense significa “Árbol vivo” en estas dos palabras se resume la calidad y variedad de los productos que ofrece el hombre del agro para abastecer los diferentes mercados de la región. Aire vivo quiere decir además, aire puro, área forestal, hermosos paisajes y vida en tierra de labranza. Si hablamos de vida, también nos estamos refiriendo a la juventud, como dice Lope de Vega. “Oh Belarda gentil ¡ siempre bendiga tus verdes años el piadoso cielo”. Color blanco: significa la paz, la humildad, la hospitalidad y la sencillez de nuestro pueblo. También expresa la cordial acogida que nuestra gente brinda a la juventud estudiosa que promete un mejor futuro para la familia y progreso integral para el municipio.
