Description
English: Five year old Eucalypts at Hunshelf Hall. At this point we stopped and stared at the trees lining the side of the road. Not the kind of thing that you expect on top of a windswept ridge of the Pennine Hills! After getting the cows inside the yard the farmer came across to talk to us. We ended up swapping stories about our respective visits to Australia. The story behind the gum trees is that he'd visited the Blue Mountains (to the west of Sydney) and been so impressed with the 'gum' trees he'd seen there that he'd decided that 'he'd have some of them' to provide a wind break for the farm. 916642 916661
