Five sherd of wheel-thrown Samian ware, including one sherd with decoration, dating to the Roman period.
Description
English: Eight wheel-thrown sherds of Samian pottery of varying sizes, but with an overall weight of 77.81g. There are five rim sherds, two body sherds and one fragment of the base/ platform low and flat dish. All of the sherds are worn and in poor condition, with only slight traces of the glossy coat surviving on a few. One of the body sherds has worn decoration on it but the fragment is so small, no more detail can be given. Three of the rim sherds have a particular lighter fabric/ fill from the others which have a dark orange colour. These other shedrs have a fabric ranging from creamy/ off-white to light creamy orange.
