English: Five Pits Trail The photograph shows the Five Pits Trail from the summit of a short rise (behind the viewpoint) before it heads down (ahead) toward its junction with Locko Road.
The wooded area ahead is the Locko Plantation, which is a mixed woodland of mainly Lodgepole Pine, Larch, Sweet Chestnut and Oak. It is home to a variety of woodland birds. These include Goldcrest, Siskin, Linnet, Sparrowhawk and occasionally, Long-eared Owl. Woodland management has been taking place in the plantation since 1998, when the woodland was opened up to the public.
