English: Five Pits Trail This photograph of the Five Pits Trail, looking in a southerly direction, was taken a few metres to the south of a point where three footpaths join the trail. To see a photograph of the junction of paths, click here 321799.
The field to the right is reclaimed land and was once a railway cutting carrying the Great Central Railway http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Central_Railway as well as sidings to the local colliery. The road in the distance is 314809. To see a more southerly (ahead) photograph of the trail, click here 322189. To see the view, in the opposite direction, taken from a few metres behind the viewpoint, click here 322136. |
