Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Preserved First Glasgow recovery vehicle 90140 (reg. DMS 348C), pictured during the 2009 Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust open day. It's a converted service bus, having been delivered new in 1965 to Walter Alexander and Sons (Midland) Ltd as a coach seated Leyland Leopard PSU3/3 with Alexander Y-Type bodywork, as their fleet number MPE62, then presumably passing through the hands of Midland Scottish Omnibuses Ltd and then Midland Bluebird Ltd who were bought by GRT, forerunner to First Group, and then being with First long enough to receive the corporate livery introduced in the late 1990s and the national fleet number 90140, introduced in the early 2000s (having previously also worn 9904 with Midland Bluebird and possibly ML305 with Midland Scottish). Not visible form this angle, but much of the original 49 seat coach body has been cut away, to accomodate the towing equipment. It has been preserved since at least 2006.
