Description
English: Pvt. Lafayette Johnson, an indirect fire infantryman with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, inspects a rail car before an M1A2 Abrams tank is loaded onto a train at Fort Carson, Colorado, Nov. 15, 2016. The 3rd ABCT began movement of its first armor vehicles to Bremerhaven, Germany, where 3rd Brigade will receive its full set of ABCT equipment before onward movement to Poland for its deployment in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The arrival of the heavy brigade in January will mark the beginning of a continuous presence of an armored brigade combat team in central and eastern Europe to contribute to and strengthen NATO deterrence and defense efforts. The U.S. and partner nations conducted land, sea and air exercises and maintained a rotational presence in order to reinforce NATO security commitments in Europe. (U.S. Army photo by Ange Desinor)
