Description

Warren Summers, pound master for Galesburg, watches as a patrolman, Marion(?) Anderson, fires a revolver at a dog in a field. Green's caption to this photo printed in the newspaper reads, "The report echoed over the hill, the gun blew forth a cloud of white smoke, as if to screen from the observer the deed it had done, and thanks to this veil of smoke for obscuring from view this scene, which, 'twere not to picture."
