Description
English: Fire in Reyavík April 25 1915.
Íslenska: Aðfaranótt sunnudagsins 25. apríl 1915 varð einn mesti eldsvoði í sögu Reykjavíkur. Þessa nótt brunnu alls tólf hús í miðbænum, þar af tíu til ösku. Tveir menn létust í brunanum. Hér rýkur úr rústunum morguninn eftir. Syndikatið og Hótel Reykjavík, þar sem eldurinn komu upp, eru bæði horfin en Landsbankahúsið er illa farið. Bruninn mikli hafði mikil áhrif á skipulagsmál í Reykjavík og í stað timburhúsa risu nú steinsteypt stórhýsi og má þar nefna húsaraðirnar við Austurstræti 7-11 og 10-16.
