Description
English: Portrait in the Calle de Sor Francisca Armendáriz in Cartagena (Spain) of the singer Finita Imperio. The work was created in 2021 by the artist Clara Ledo as part of the municipal divulgation project "Huellas de mujer. Cartagena en femenino".

The text that accompanies the portrait reads:

Josefa Cánovas Hoyos. She was born in Cartagena in 1928. Her stage name: Finita Imperio. She was a singer of coplas, fandangos and bulerías; also sang other genres related to flamenco. She toured Spain, much of Hispanic America and Europe.
She debuted on the stage very young, and in the 1950s achieved her fame. Her hallmark was the interpretation of the song Mi madre sí que me quiere, a copla composed by her. She was internationally recognized, and held the highest ranking of the so-called Folclóricas nacionales. She passed away in Lisbon in 2013.

Josefa Cánovas Hoyos. Nació en Cartagena en 1928. Su nombre artístico: Finita Imperio. Cantante de coplas, fandangos y bulerías; también cantó otros géneros relacionados con el flamenco. Recorrió de gira España, gran parte de Hispanoamérica y Europa.
Debutó sobre las tablas muy joven, y en la década de los 50 alcanzó su fama. Su sello de identidad fue la interpretación de la canción Mi madre sí que me quiere, copla compuesta por ella. Reconocida a nivel internacional, ocupó el más alto escalafón de las denominadas Folclóricas nacionales. Falleció en Lisboa en 2013.
