| Description |
English: Fingerpost in the mist on Moorsholm Moor. The fingerpost shown in the right-hand side of this picture is a useful landmark for walkers (when it is not misty) as it marks the junction of two footpaths at Smeathorns Road (just visible in the left-hand side of the picture). The arrow on the fingerpost point in the direction of the footpath that leads to Stanghow Moor (north east). The other path runs south (from the bend in the road) to Sand Hill and Commondale. The bend in the road is marked by left-pointing chevrons - these are just visible, but are not clear due to the prevailing mist. In more visible conditions these would be seen as shown here (1598030) and here (1598053). Notice the water in the foreground of the picture; this is typical of many moorland areas during the winter months. |
