| Description | Super-grading of base layer used a rail supported and hand operated grader as part of the FHWA, Highways for LIFE project with Virginia DOT to demonstrate the use of the PCPS jointed precast pavement system-Super-Slab® to replace a ramp lane leading to US-50 West. A thin layer of fine bedding material was placed, fully compacted and graded to provide a precise subgrade surface in accordance with the surveys. |
