English: Finches bus T95 (reg. CUL 95V), a 1979 Leyland Titan (B15), pictured in Water Street, Liverpool, on a school service.
The 125th production Titan, it's from the early batch built by the British Leyland subsidiary Park Royal Vehicles in Park Royal, London (later ones were built at Leyland's expanded factory in the Lillyhall Industrial Estate, Workington). As with the vast majority of production, it was delivered new to London Transport as part of the dual-door T-class, allocated fleet number T95. As part of the privatisation process it passed into the fleet of Cowie Leaside (which later became Arriva London North). Having latterly been a training bus, it was painted in Leaside Travel livery presumably for private hire work. By November 1997 it had been withdrawn, and was sold to Arriva Scotland West, being renumbered 916 and converted to a single-door bus, unusually with a full length panel with no window. In May 2000 it passed to Holmeswood Coaches, but was immediately sold on to Finches, who added a window where the centre door had been panelled over. It was still in service until at least May 2011. |
