Latina: Filocalia es una agrupación musical católica, con reconocida participación en Argentina y Uruguay en eventos religiosos y juveniles. El estilo musical se basa en el folclore latinoamericano, el pop y el rock. Las letras incursionan en la espiritualidad y la oración, el compromiso cristiano con la sociedad, la defensa de la vida y la familia, la alegría de la fe y la musicalización de salmos y poesías de autores hispanoamericanos. Con una estética sencilla y un compromiso misionero que es parte integral de la propuesta de la banda, ha recorrido numerosos escenarios y lugares, tales como teatros, campos deportivos, plazas, festivales callejeros, cárceles, villas miseria (“favelas”), peregrinaciones a santuarios marianos, Misas, etc. Actualmente ha incorporado, a sus presentaciones, diferentes videos que ilustran las letras de las canciones, y subtítulos en inglés para las canciones más importantes.
La temática en el presente espectáculo musical y audiovisual gira en torno a la defensa de la vida, desde la concepción hasta la muerte natural, así como canciones-homenaje a grandes testigos como Juan Pablo II y la Madre Teresa de Calcuta, canciones de adoración, alabanza, etc. Filocalia desde 1997, busca aportar valores a la cultura contemporánea desde el cristianismo, intentando encarnar el sentido que da, a su nombre, el inciso 2727 del Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica: “amor de la Belleza absoluta”. Hemos participado en la reciente JMJ Madrid 2011, en el marco del festival Anuncio, con el concierto “Abraza la Vida”, y en el encuentro de la Acción Católica Internacional. |
