Deutsch: Inschriftenstein der Freiherrn von Teufel vmtl. 16. Jahrhundert an der Außenwand der Filialkirche Winzendorf in Winzendorf am Steinfeld in der Gemeinde Winzendorf-Muthmannsdorf im Bezirk Wiener Neustadt-Land in Niederösterreich / Österreich / Europäische Union. Inschriftenstein der Freiherrn von Teufel vmtl. 16. Jahrhundert an der Außenwand der Kirche Die Inschrift in Capitalis in Altdeutscher Sprache lautet: "Ob iemant / Wer der zweifeln / Wolt. obs tevflisch Gsc= / =hläct. avch alt sein solt. / vnd solchs neü / edel sein vermain / widersprich ich vralter stain".[1] Etwa: "Wenn jemand zweifeln sollte, dass das Teuflische Geschlecht nicht alt ist und glaubt, dass es neuadelig sei, diesem widerspreche ich uralter Stein."
English: Inscription stone of the Barons of Teufel probably 16th century on the outer wall of the church Winzendorf in Winzendorf am Steinfeld, municipality Winzendorf-Muthmannsdorf, district Wiener Neustadt-Land District, Lower Austria / Austria / EU. The inscription in Capitalis in Old German reads: "Ob iemant / Wer der zweifeln / Wolt. obs tevflisch Gsc= / =hläct. avch alt sein solt. / vnd solchs neü / edel sein vermain / widersprich ich vralter stain".[2] Roughly translated: "If anyone should doubt that the family Teufel (devil) is not old and believes that it is new noble, to this I contradict as an ancient stone."
