English: Magnetic fields B and H created by a bar magnet. Magnetization is in blue. Top: the magnetic currents ∇×M (in magenta) create a B field (in red) similar to the one produced by a coil. Bottom: The magnetic charges -∇⋅M (i.e. the magnet poles, in cyan) create an H field (in green) similar to the electric field in a parallel-plate capacitor. B and H are the same outside the magnet but differ inside.
Français : Champs magnétiques B et H crées par un barreau uniformément aimanté. L'aimantation est en bleu. En haut : les courants liés ∇×M (en mauve) créent un champ B (en rouge) similaire au champ créé par une bobine. En bas : les charges magnétiques -∇⋅M (c.-à-d. les pôles de l'aimant, en cyan) créent un champ H (en vert) similaire au champ électrique dans un condensateur plan.
