Summary
[edit]DescriptionField near Curds Farm - geograph.org.uk - 1099931.jpg |
English: Field near Curds Farm The footpath from the farm runs down the right side of the field. According to an 1839 tithe map this field seems to be an amalgamation of a number of smaller fields; starting at the top end was Long Field which stretched to the lane but has now been hedged off; then beyond that was Four Acre Mead followed by Three Acre Field, the latter surrounded by shaws that along with other field boundaries have long since vanished. The cottages in Hamsey Road are to the right whilst in the distance are buildings on the lane to Barcombe Cross from Deadmantree Hill. The small bush and tree in the middle of the field mark the site of a small pond. |
