Summary
[edit]DescriptionFfynnon Issui, Partrishow (geograph 2210147).jpg |
English: Ffynnon Issui, Partrishow
This is the holy well of St Issui. 1500years ago a holy man named Issui had a cell near by. Issui baptised people in the stream. The stream is called Nant Mair, which means Mary's stream. There is very little known about St. Issui, he is a local Welsh saint. I would not be surprised to learn he was a local pagan deity who was Christianized and became a saint for convenience sake after the conversion of Wales to Christianity. |
