Summary
[edit]DescriptionFestuca idahoensis (3885431372).jpg | In most Festuca species, the leaf blade abruptly contracts from the leaf sheath (e.g., inrolling) such that a "stairstep" is formed and visible from side view. The ligule of many Festuca species is bilobed, where one of the lobes sits atop the stairstep on either side of the leaf blade. The two stems to the left show the leaf sheath surrounding the stem (probably from F. campestris). The two stems to the right have the stem removed (these belong to F. idahoensis). |
