Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Iron(II) carbonate, a white solid, is made by reacting an acidic solution of iron(II) chloride with sodium carbonate. This makes carbon dioxide as well because of the carbonate-acid reaction. The carbon dioxide drives the oxygen out of the water. If any dissolved oxygen is added to the water, it turns (irreversibly) dark green-gray.
