Summary
[edit]DescriptionFerries coming and going, Portsmouth (7) - geograph.org.uk - 1107337.jpg |
English: Ferries coming and going, Portsmouth (7) The Isle of Wight Ferry has come out of the harbour and a similar incoming vessel approaches from The Solent, passing The Point on the left of the image. The wash of the approaching ferry shows that it had been travelling slowly to allow the first ship across its bows, enabling it to pass on the right. Now the arriving vessel is moving at greater speed to make its own entrance to the terminal, out of sight to our left.
This is No 7 of a sequence of images taken from the second deck of the Spinnaker Tower, timed at 13:09 GMT. The dullness of the day was probably an advantage in that reflections from the angled glass windows of the tower observation platform were easily controlled. |
