Description
English: Parker House, Pioneer Park, Ferndale, Washington, U.S. According to Ferndale Heritage Society, Parker House was one of East Ferndale's original buildings, built in 1879 across the Nooksack River from present-day Pioneer Park. It served variously as a home, an improvised hotel, and a general store (the current setup reflects this last). Donated to the Whatcom County Parks Department in 1974, it was first stored at Hovander Homestead Park for some time, then completely dismantled in 1979 and moved to Pioneer Park "sans any photos, plans or system of numbering the pieces. Fortunately, Fred Sutcliffe the City of Ferndale’s Parks Maintenance Supervisor could remember exactly how the building looked and reassembled the building over a period of a month."
