Huile sur carton entoilé signée. Vers 1880. Partie peinte : 39.3 x 66.2 cm. Collection particulière. Le modèle au même âge et avec les mêmes guenilles, figure sur les tableaux "Gamin des rues", daté 1880 (Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec) et "Sans asile" (Petit Palais, Salon de 1883).

Pelez a présenté son diptyque "Irréconciliables" au Salon des artistes français de 1882, avec à gauche le portrait d'un enfant des rues une pierre dans la main et à droite un garçon du même âge dans un riche habit à dentelles. Cette œuvre a suscité des dizaines d'articles dans la presse de l'époque, sa localisation actuelle n'est pas connue.

Oil on canvas board, signed. Around 1880. Painted part: 39.3 x 66.2 cm. Private collection. The model at the same age and with the same rags, appears on the paintings "Gamin des rues", dated 1880 (Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec) and "Sans asile" (Petit Palais, Salon of 1883).

Pelez presented his "Irréconciliables" diptych at the 1882 Salon, with a portrait of a street child on the left with a stone in his hand and a boy of the same age in a rich lace dress on the right. This work generated dozens of articles in the press of the time, its current location is unknown.
