Summary
[edit]DescriptionFeral Chickens at Chicken roundabout - geograph.org.uk - 1714813.jpg |
English: Feral Chickens at Chicken roundabout Several chickens have become locally very famous at the roundabout. The story goes that they lived in an old Great Eastern Railway wooden 6 wheeler coach. This was derelict and a perfect home for them. It was situated next to the Waveney Valley Railway crossing.
When the line closed in August 1964 the coach it became a perfect place to put a road. The road swept away the crossing and coach and the roundabout put through their home. But they survived and became famous. Even with that challenge gone others followed with people poisoning them and Gypsies stealing hens for the pot! |
