Description
English: Read about Desire paths/lines here in a Flickr Group which George Redgrave began.

As you see, this one is a short cut to the bus stop. Why erect temporary fencing? To give the grass a chance to grow back.

Also because without some management we could gradually lose the grassed areas; as paths are carved out by feet, widened, and perhaps become impacted mud.

At which point some "clever" professional person may suggest making a concrete path. Which could eventually lead to a spider's web of paths and perhaps hardly any park left.

George and I sometimes have different views about this topic. But dissent and disagreement is healthy and constructive.
