The Verdi monument was sculpted in Bronze by the Italo-Brazilian artist Amedeo Zani between 1913 and 1921, in honor of the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi. Despite of being located a few meters away from the City Hall, right at the heart of Vale do Anhangabau, this monument is somewhat abandoned by the city officials and neglected by most of the Sao Paulo residents. Unfortunately, this "phenomenon" happens to the vast majority of public monuments of the city. |
