Description

Black and white photograph of a female child, aged 6 years with a supernumerary leg growing from the left buttock (a dipygus parasiticus). This case forms no exception to the law that the completeness of the 'parasite' varies directly with its proximity to the head of its 'host'; growing from the pelvis, the 'parasite' is represented merely by a lower extremity.
