English: 2 February 2016. Felixstowe Road, Tottenham. It seemed someone had neatly wedged rubbish bags between temporary scaffolding and the side wall of a house. A few cans and a plastic bottle added to the pile.
I may be wrong, but this looked like a "thoughtful" bit of "tidy" dumping and littering. Or at least a bit tidier and less careless than simply dropping it on the road. From time to time, our friend Liz Ixer and I have shared ideas and photos about an apparently misdirected "impulse" to tidiness. So even when someone doesn't use the free bin collections provided by Haringey, our borough Council, they still take the trouble to leave rubbish tucked away in nooks and corners and improvised "containers". Which suggests a question: how could they be persuaded or gently nudged to go a little further and put it in a litter/trash bin.
