[edit]DescriptionFelix Park Will Open Easter Sun - New Orleans.jpg |
English: Felix Park Band, 1915 or 1916.
Band posing in front of building with sign "Felix Park Will Open Easter Sun". This is a pic on display at Basin Street Station that I took a snapshot of years ago; I haven't been able to find a decent copy online yet. "Felix Park Band at the New Orleans - Kenner Ticket Office, by John J. DePaul". This was at 127 South Rampart Street. The "O-K Line" was an interurban streetcar line running from Canal Street in New Orleans to Kenner Louisiana, 14 miles away. "Felix Park" was a park in Kenner, on the riverside of Williams and Jefferson Highway (then third street - the levee was further out then, and there were 2 more blocks of Kenner on the river side). There was dancing to jazz bands in the park on Sundays. The streetcar line ran from 1915 through 1930. |
