Description
English: Finnish immigrant, Felix Järvimäki, in the centre of the picture - in Canada (Fort William, Ontario) around 1924, from a family album. Photoowner Harri Blomberg.

Suomi: Felix Järvimäki i mitten av bilden. Enligt den detaljerade passagerarinformationen (List and page 120/87) i migrationsinstitutet i Finland åkte min mormors bror Felix Leander Järvimäki (f. Skogslund 22.9.1897 i Överby, Bötom), 26 år gammal, ifrån Lappfjärd (sic!) via Hangö och Liverpool till Fort William i Ontario, Kanada. Hans biljett kostade 4835 finska mark. Avresan från Hangö, Finland skedde den 12.01.1924 med emigrantskeppet ”Baltic” till Hull i England. I Liverpool bytte han en vecka senare, den 19.01.1924, till C.P.O.S. Lines större emigrantfartyg vid namn ”Metagama”. Felix Järvimäki återkom senare tillbaka till Österbotten och bosatte sig i Nederby, Bötom. I Finland hade han en hustru, Jenni Maria Kiviranta, som han hade gift sig med den 23.12.1923, alldeles före avresan till Kanada. Hon dog 7.9.1951 i Bötom.
