Description
English: Photo on the occasion of the European Economic and Social Committee event in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg, Austria on 11 October 2018: "Economic progress and social stability as a means against EU skepticism?" Egon Blum (* 1940 in Hoechst), designing engineer and head of departement at the milling manufacture Starrag in Rorschacherberg in Switzerland (1960 to 1970). 1970 to 2005 member of the managment of Julius Blum GmbH in Hoechst. 1973 he led the creation of the Apprentice Training Working Group at Vorarlberger Electro- and Metal Industry (VEM), which he chaired without interruption unteil 2010. From 2003 to 2008 he was Government Commissioner für Youth Employment and Apprenticeships under the Schüssel II and Gusenbauer goverments.
Deutsch: Aufnahme anlässlich der Veranstaltung des Europäischen Wirtschafts- und Sozialausschusses in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg, Österreich am 11. Oktober 2018: „Wirtschaftlicher Fortschritt und soziale Stabilität als Mittel gegen die EU-Skepsis?“ Egon Blum (* 1940 in Höchst), Konstrukteur und Abteilungsleiter beim Werkzeugmaschinenhersteller Starrag in Rorschacherberg in der Schweiz (1960 bis 1970). 1970 bis 2005 Mitglied der Geschäftsführung der Julius Blum GmbH in Höchst. 1973 leitete er die Gründung der Arbeitsgruppe für Lehrlingsausbildung bei der Vorarlberger Elektro- und Metallindustrie (VEM), der er bis 2010 ununterbrochen vorstand. Von 2003 bis 2008 war er Regierungsbeauftragter für Jugendbeschäftigung und Lehrlingsausbildung bei den Regierungen Schüssel II und Gusenbauer .
