Tuesday, February 18, 2014 The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) are sponsoring a national conference on cover crops and soil health in Omaha, Nebraska February 18-19, 2014. Concurrently, NRCS and SDSU Extension Service are joining 200+ sites nationwide in hosting free local forums to come together in support of soil health activities locally. Forum Purpose Participants will have the unique opportunity to view the opening session of the national conference featuring Howard G. Buffet, NRCS Chief Jason Weller and a panel of Soil Health farmers from across the Nation and... • Discuss with local experts how cover crops and soil health management systems can build soil health, improve yields, curb erosion, manage pests and build resilience into your farming system; • Discuss opportunities, challenges or barriers; and • Provide feedback/ideas to national conference sponsors.
