Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Simulated icosahedral twin bowties (dual tetrahedra) and butterflies (bowtie pairs) correspond to power-spectrum spots around an icosahedral twin lattice image[1][2], like the image down the 5-fold zone of a Pd icosahedral twin here. The left column are complex color images of periodicity amplitude and phase as a function of position across the cluster, while the right column shows the corresponding phase gradient i.e. vector strain image instead.
