Summary
[edit]DescriptionFault moonquake.jpg |
English: Moonquakes, as they are known there, are caused by meteorites striking the surface or by the Earth's gravitational force compressing and stretching the moon's innards, much like the moon's tidal pressure on the oceans here on Earth. The moon is shrinking and shrivelling like a raisin as the lunar interior cools, which also causes other quakes as the crust cracks and buckles. Because of the change in temperature in the lunar crust as the moon comes out of its night, heat from the sun can also cause thermal quakes. |
